Which Pellet Press Die Sets Can I use in the 15 Ton D-Frame

The 15 Ton Pellet Press Die Sets has a 120 mm gap, so can be used with all our standard height pellet press dies and low profile sets. If you are using a longer die set (90 mm sleeve height) then you'll need a larger space. please contact us.

15 Tons is enough to max out out standard 25 mm ID Die Sets, although it can be used for larger diameter dies, if yo are pressing with very high loads then you may need a larger press for this.

Adjusting the Pressing Height of the 15 Ton D-Frame Press with Bench Blocks?

Each D-Frame comes with 3 perfectly parallel circular bench blocks which are 12.5 mm (1/2 inch), 25 mm (1 inch) and 50 mm (2 inch) so you can lift your die set up any of these amounts or stack them in any combination to up to make 87.5 mm (1 3/4 inch) with all 3 stacked up. This leaves you with only 32.5 mm gap and the ram travels 50 mm so it is quick and easy to swap heights with adjustment.

As a bonus we have scooped out the back of each bench block so you can flip then over and use as a release ring for 25 mm ID and under. You will also have your release ring with your die set if you prefer or making larger ID or longer pellets.

Should I Use a Hand Pump or an Electric Pump for my Hydraulic Lab Press?

If you are pressing small diameter pellets (<10 mm) with low force, the hand press will allow you more precision. If you are repeatedly pressing larger diameter pellets >10 mm with higher loads, then the electric pump will speed you up... a lot.
