Which pellet press die sets can I use with the 15-Ton D-Frame?
The 15 Ton Pellet Press Die Sets has a 120 mm gap, so can be used with all our standard height pellet press dies and low profile sets. If you are using a longer die set (90 mm sleeve height) then you'll need a larger space. Please contact us for recommendations.
15 tons is more than enough force to fully maximize our standard 25 mm inner diameter (ID) die sets. While it can be used with larger diameter dies, pressing at exceptionally high loads on larger samples may require a higher-capacity press.

How do I adjust the pressing height using the included bench blocks?
EEvery D-Frame press includes three precision-ground parallel circular bench blocks: 12.5 mm (1/2 inch), 25 mm (1 inch) and 50 mm (2 inch). These blocks can be used individually or stacked in any combination up to 87.5 mm (3.5 inches / 3 ¾ inches). Stacking all three leaves a remaining gap of 32.5 mm; paired with the cylinder’s 50 mm stroke, this allows for quick, hassle-free height adjustments between runs.
Bonus Feature: Each bench block features a recessed back section. Simply flip a block over to use it as a sample ejection ring for dies 25 mm ID and under. (You can also continue using the standalone ejection ring included with your die set for longer or larger-diameter pellets).
Should I choose a hand pump or an electric pump?
Hand Pump: Ideal if you are pressing smaller diameter pellets (<10 mm) at lower forces, as it offers granular control and tactile feedback.
Electric Pump: Recommended if you are repeatedly pressing larger diameter pellets (>10 mm) at higher loads, it will significantly speed up your workflow.
Does the press ship with hydraulic oil included?
No. Due to international shipping and carrier safety regulations, the press is shipped without oil. We recommend filling the pump with standard ISO VG 32 hydraulic oil prior to initial use.
